That's a Whole Lotta Peaches!
Well, this week's recipe worked for me! And, it's pretty scrumptous. My only regret is that it takes a lot of peaches, and while they're in season now, and not expensive, it was a lot of work to peel and core them. I added some nectarines in there too, just toj make sure i reached approximately the 4 lbs it calls for.
I loved the smell coming into the apartment as i cooked the peaches, though. I felt like i was make peach jam or something. I had one of my vintage aprons on and i devoted the night to making this dish.
I also couldn't get a good zest going with the lemons - no proper tool - so i used my potato peeler but some pieces were just a bit too big. I'm taking this dessert to a picnic dinner on the beach today so i hope our friends like it too!

That is a whole lotta peaches. I am going to a produce auction today near Kalona. Maybe I'll get me a whole lotta peaches there. Hope your dish is a hit at the beach picnic.
I figured out the picture thing. :)
I skipped the peeling step. I almost never peel things as a rule, but mine could have used it. Some of the skind were a little long and stringy :)
Let us know how your friends like it!
oh, me neither! it said to peel if desired and i thought to myself and decided that i did not desire to peel the peaches! that must have been a long time!!!!!
glad it worked out for you -- so fun to get to share it on the beach!
Looks good vania! I really need to get a kitchen scale.
I always peel peaches, and I do so with a wet hand towel beside me because it's a sticky job.
It's Friday and we need a new recipe. Any suggestions? I'm going to a potluck on Sunday so I plan to make this week's project for that.
Dori is going to a produce auction!? What's that? Sounds exciting.
