Italian Tempeh Sausage

Italian tempeh sausage anyone?

There is a recipe in Vegan with a Vengeance which I hear is great, and I found this one on the internet. The recipes sound so versatile and can be made for breakfast or for dinner, with gravy, another saucy topping or without. I'm not as well versed in tempeh as others seem to be, and I've been wanting to try this for a while so I thought I'd throw it in as this week's suggestion!

I love it too! I'm trying to eat more tempeh than tofu for now. A long time ago someone told me she served tempeh to an omnivore, and the omni said it tasted like shoelaces. (Some omnivores are so UNadventurous about food, and what do shoelaces taste like anyway?)

Being adventurous with food has a lot to do with how a person was raised.

I have friends that consider themselves vegetarians yet they never touch tofu or other meat alternatives - they just eat a lot of pasta, rice and bread.

As for myself, I am an omnivore and VERY adventurous with food. I eat both meat and meat alternatives including tofu and tempeh, although I must admit I find the latter not very palatable.

Have any of you ever tried "tree ears"? :D

It's a Chinese fungus that grows on trees and is high in protein.

Here's a link for those curious/adventurous enough to give it a try:
