chocolate peanut butter tie-dye
Very easy sandwich. Peanut butter on 2 slices of bread:Bake-broil-grill till the insides look like chocolate peanut butter tie-dye:
Was there an episode of Sesame Street in which one of the characters got its' mouth stuck shut with peanut butter? That might happen here, all that melted p.b. and chocolate is sticky. So keep a glass of water or chocolate soy milk handy to wash it down before it sets!

oh my. 2 sandwiches! this is a great idea... very, um, indulgent :)
I think it was either Ernie or Kermit... I'm pretty sure it was a muppet with Jim Henson's voice...
I thought it was from Where The Sidewalk Ends. A king (or something) likes peanut butter sandwiches so much that his mouth seals shut! And the dentist comes to pry it open, and it was really hard, and when it finally opened again, he was like "Can I have another peanut butter sandwich, please?"
!!!!
I agree... definately Shel Silverstein to thank for that wonderful poem. :):)
I was defintely growed up with Where the Sidewalk ends. I was picturing a wide puppet mouth crammed shut but now that you mention Shel, that sounds familiar.
I definitely remember a Sesame Street segment with pb sandwich, as well. But I mostly recall the audio, which is why I'm pretty sure it was in a Jim Henson voice. I can here him say "... stuck to the roof of my mouth..." with a mouth full of sticky peanut butter :D
Maybe it was both!?
FYI: Arachibutyrophobia is the fear of peanut butter getting stuck to the roof of your mouth.
I *reeeeeeallly* love PB but lately it's been making the back of my throat burn and giving me stomach aches :( I think from eating too much of it.. but seriously, is 1/2 a jar of heaven too much?
I know an archivist who specializes in children's television so I asked her. She said there was an episode in which Basil got his mouth stuck with peanut butter on Canadian Sesame Street. And she's not certain but thinks there was an episode on the American version in which Grover got his mouth stuck. We're a bit old for Basil, so Mishka and I must be thinking of the Grover episode. I tried Googling it but kept getting hits for "a la peanut butter sandwiches."
There is definitely a Shel Silverstein poem on same theme:

i'm sitting across from basil right as we speak.
I just met him, too! He didn't have any peanut butter.
